— Small workshops

Saturday workshops, every fortnight.

Three-hour workshops in the back room, capped at six students. Beginner-welcome. Yarn, needles, tea and a small cake provided. Most workshops finish the project on the day.

Learn to knit in three hours

Cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, cast off. You will leave with a small dishcloth and a working brain for the next project.

$95

The everyday-beanie

For knitters who can already cast on. The shop's house pattern, knit in the round on circular needles. You will leave with a beanie.

$135

Embroidery for absolute beginners

Six basic stitches in three hours. Hoop and thread provided. Bring your own scissors if you have a favourite pair.

$95

Mend & visible repair

Bring a beloved piece. We learn sashiko-style mending and learn to love the patch as much as the cloth.

— Fibre + finish

Three textures, up close.

Tasmanian merino · 4-ply

The Harbour shade

Hand-dyed in three baths over two days. The blue takes longest — the third bath is what makes the depth.

Merino + silk · DK

Wisteria blend

75% merino, 25% silk. The silk gives the lustre; the merino keeps it warm. Knits up softer than the swatch suggests.

Embroidery linen · 28-count

The mending cloth

Belgian linen for sashiko-style visible repair. Sold by the metre, with our recommended hand-sewing needles.

— Three popular patterns

Three patterns from the back-room shelf.

Pattern · Knit

The Bramble cardigan

A relaxed-fit drop-shoulder cardigan in DK weight. The shop's most-knitted pattern. Sizes 1 through 7. Eight hand-dyed shades.

Pattern · Embroidery

Wildflowers of the back garden

Five small embroidery patterns in soft watercolour pencils. Suitable for beginners. Includes the back-garden study guide.

Pattern · Knit

The Harbour socks

Toe-up socks in 4-ply, with a heel-flap and gusset. Sizes adult-S through adult-XL. Two yarn options on the shade wall.

— Visit

The shop, at the end of Percival Road.

Walk-ins welcome. The back room is reserved for workshops most Saturdays — quietly close the door behind you and join the bench in the front room. Tea is always on.
