Conversation & brief
A private appointment at the atelier. We talk through the occasion, the wearer, the budget range, and the heirloom material if any. Tea, no champagne. No deposit at this stage. You may decide not to proceed and that is fine.
Vault 12 is a single-room atelier on the first floor of an Art Deco walk-up in Potts Point. Engagement rings, family-heirloom redesigns, signet rings, eternity bands — never two of the same piece, always by appointment.

Two hand-drawn options, then a final 3-D render. Stone sourcing begins in parallel — never from supply houses, only by direct relationship with cutters and lapidaries in Antwerp, Bangkok and Sydney. Deposit at design lock — 30%.
Casting, setting, polishing. By Vault 12 alone, in the atelier — never offshored, never on a bench you cannot visit. You are welcome to attend the bench during the casting week. Progress photographs each Friday.
A private collection appointment. The piece is presented, photographed for the archive, and accompanied by stone certification, full provenance record, and ten-year guarantee. Final balance on collection.
Reset of the wearer's late grandmother's diamond. Original setting retained on the inside of the band, original wedding date engraved.
Three generations of bloodstone reset into a heavier 18k yellow band. Family crest hand-engraved by master engraver Karl Schmid. For a fortieth.
Twelve channel-set baguettes commissioned for a tenth anniversary. Twelve months of cutter-direct sourcing from Antwerp to match perfectly across the band.
Vault 12 does not buy from supply houses. Every coloured stone is cut by a known lapidary; every diamond is graded by GIA, IGI or HRD; every provenance line is written in the archive. Recycled-metal-first, always.
You will leave Vault 12 with a written record of where every component of your piece was mined, cut, and set — by name, by date, by gem laboratory certificate.
Vault 12 sees a maximum of two new clients per week. First appointments are ninety minutes, at the atelier, with tea, no champagne. Most appointments open four to six weeks out.
