A tiny ice cream parlour on Percival Road.
Twelve flavours, all made in the back of the shop. Mochi wrapped to order. Sundaes you can build yourself. Pop in for a single scoop — or take home a pint.
We make ice cream the slow way, in tiny batches, with proper milk.
Hana opened Mochi & Cream in 2021 with a single batch freezer and twelve flavour ideas. The shop now runs four machines, but the flavours still change every season and the mochi are still wrapped one at a time.
Twelve flavours, changed weekly.
Burnt caramel
A deeply caramelised salted caramel with a swirl of crunchy praline running through.
$7Matcha cream
Ceremonial-grade Uji matcha folded into a silky cream base. Earthy, grassy, slightly sweet.
$7Strawberry shiso
Pyrenees Farm strawberries with a tiny ribbon of red shiso. Soft, summery, a little herbal.
$7Honey yuzu
Tasmanian leatherwood honey with fresh yuzu juice, churned the same morning we serve it.
$7Black sesame
Stone-toasted black sesame, ground in-house, folded into a Jersey cream base. Nutty, deep, savoury.
$7Hojicha oat
Roasted-tea infusion with toasted oats stirred through. The vegan option, but no one asks.
$7Mochi, wrapped to order.
Our mochi skins are made each morning from glutinous rice flour and a tiny bit of sugar, then wrapped around a scoop of whatever flavour you choose. Eat them within ten minutes.
Cream, mochi & tiny moments.
Tiny batches, proper milk.
Every flavour is churned in a 4-litre machine at the back of the shop. Whole milk from a single dairy in Robertson, free-range yolks from a farm in Galston, sugar from Mackay.
Nothing arrives frozen. Nothing sits in storage. If we run out by 8pm, we run out.
