Strawberry tartelette
Sablé breton, vanilla cream, the season's strawberries from Pyrenees Farm, a brush of warm apricot glaze.
French patisserie, made by hand each morning by Camille — just one block from Erko Station. Pop in for a croissant. Order ahead for a cake. We will keep one slice aside for you.
Camille trained in Lyon and opened Petal on Erskineville Road in 2022 with one oven and one mixer. Three years on, the oven has multiplied, the mixers have too, and the queue starts at 7am most Saturdays.

Ring of choux pastry filled with brown-butter praliné cream and a scatter of caramelised hazelnut.
Twelve seats, a marble counter, a record player that mostly plays French jazz, and a window that looks straight onto the street.
Camille is here every morning from 5am. The croissants come out at 7. The éclairs come out at 9. The queue is gone by 11.
