Oil cleanse
Camellia and rice bran. Pressed onto warm skin, slowly emulsified, never rubbed.
A Japanese skincare house on Falcon Street since 1968. Four generations of one Tanaka family have practised the seven-step ritual in the same lacquered room — and most evenings still close with a small bowl of matcha at the front counter.
Camellia and rice bran. Pressed onto warm skin, slowly emulsified, never rubbed.
Cold-processed konjac foam. Whipped by hand at the counter, never with a brush.
Lotion-toner pressed in seven layers with the back of the hand. Twelve quiet minutes.
Selected each visit. Hyaluronic, vitamin C, fermented rice, or yuzu. Twelve drops.
Sheet mask or hand-pressed cream. The room is silent for the duration of this step.
Pearl-tone oil applied as the final layer. The skin appears to lift from inside.
Mineral SPF 50, pressed into the skin. Removed at the front counter before the matcha.

Every Tanaka appointment finishes at the front counter with a small bowl of ceremonial-grade matcha. The matcha is the punctuation. The booking is the sentence. The two together are the visit.
Slots open at 9am every Tuesday for the coming fortnight. Appointments are by phone or by walk-in only — there is no online booking system, and we have no plans to add one.
The shop has never used an online booking system. New guests are welcome to phone any morning, walk in for an introductory consultation, or send a letter — yes, by post. Cards welcomed; cash preferred; envelopes treasured.
