A five-bed cocktail-hour spa in a basement on Macleay Street. Open seven days a week from four in the afternoon. The facial, the massage, the manicure — and a cocktail at the bar on the way out.

Nine appointments, by the candlelight.

Every appointment is held in one of five beds on the floor below. A single therapist sees you across the appointment; there are no hand-overs, no second-half rotations.

Mara Lacroix

Trained at the Christian Chauveau spa school, Paris (2010) and at the Maison Christian Dior treatment academy, Tokyo (2013). Twelve years across two flagship spa rooms in Paris and Tokyo before opening Velluto in Macleay Street in 2023.

Mara handles every brief personally. She mixes the cocktails on most weeknights. The brass tokens you receive at the end of the treatment are her own design — she had them cast at a Mosman foundry the year before opening.

All treatment slots booked via email or text. Bar walk-ins from 19:00. The diary opens for the coming fortnight every Monday at noon.
