1956 — 1984

Giuseppe Caruso

Bisnonno · Founder

Trained in Bologna, emigrated 1953. Opened the first room at 162 Norton Street in 1956. Treated three generations of Norton Street barbers, butchers and the Leichhardt Italian community.

1984 — 2008

Antonio Caruso

Nonno · Second Generation

The first Caruso to qualify in Australia. RMIT 1983. Brought cranial osteopathy into the practice and added the second treatment room. Retired at seventy-one but still walks past the shop each morning.

2008 — 2031

Marco Caruso

Padre · Third Generation

Master of Osteopathy, Victoria University. Brought paediatric osteopathy and joint structural work to the practice. Continues to consult Wednesday and Friday mornings.

2019 — present

Lorenzo Caruso

Principal · Fourth Generation

BOst (Hons), Unitec Auckland. Three years at Family Osteopathy Mornington before returning to Norton Street in 2019. Sees patients five and a half days a week.

Dr Lorenzo Caruso, fourth generation.

Lorenzo trained at Unitec, Auckland (Bachelor of Osteopathy with Honours, 2014) and worked at Family Osteopathy Mornington for three years before returning to Norton Street in 2019.

Every initial consult runs forty-five minutes and includes a full history, examination, and treatment. Reviews are the same length and never shorter. The waiting-room espresso machine has been there since 1996. Nonno Antonio insists.

Private health: HICAPS on the day, all major funds. Medicare Chronic Disease Management plans accepted ($58.30 rebate). DVA gold and white cards. WorkCover and CTP claims welcomed with provider referral. NDIS plan-managed and self-managed.
